It’s A New Day

Disclaimer: Like most people, I loved Spider-Man No Way Home. A couple days later, I wrote this poem about Peter Parker at the end of the film. Is it nerdy to write a poem about a superhero film? Never mind don’t tell me, I don’t care.*

It’s a new day.

Not a soul to check on me.

I turn to touch you,

but then I remember you’re not here.

And I know months have passed,

but my mind still likes to trick me.

And in my dreams we’re dancing

just like we used to.

And each time I see you,

I hold you a little tighter.

If we meet again, will you smile at me?

Or walk right past like I’m a stranger?

I wish you remembered the love that we had,

but maybe time will help me forget.

It’s a new day,

and I need to begin again.
